Aspirationally Net Zero is a term used to describe a building or facility that has a goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions over a given period. In the case of this climate and innovation event space, this means that it aims to have a carbon footprint of zero or as close to zero as possible. The facility achieves this through a range of sustainable features, including the Photovoltaic Panel System that includes a total of 193 solar panel modules producing 79.13 kW of energy. This solar energy is stored in Tesla Powerwall batteries, which are part of the Tesla Gateway System and Tesla Powerwall Racking that help to store and distribute energy as needed. This system allows the facility to generate and store its own renewable energy, reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.

The Enhanced Air Filtration System is another important feature of this facility, providing a healthy and comfortable environment for attendees. The system uses advanced filters to remove contaminants and particulate matter from the air, ensuring that the air quality is of the highest standard.

The Reclaimed Rainwater system is another sustainable feature that captures, stores, and reuses water for irrigation of planting throughout the site. This system reduces the amount of potable water used for irrigation, thus conserving water resources.

The relocation of five large native trees within the property and the planting of 47 new trees and palms is an example of the facility’s commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural environment. The Low Voltage Lighting, LED site, and landscape lights reduce electrical usage, further reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.

The Edible Garden with locally grown herbs and produce is a sustainable feature that provides fresh, healthy food for events while reducing the carbon footprint associated with transporting food from elsewhere. The gardening and potting area, complete with a composting system for food waste and organic material waste, is another example of the facility’s commitment to reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Attendees can monitor energy usage and water consumption, comparing these metrics to the energy and water stored within the batteries and cisterns, respectively. This feature allows attendees to understand the environmental impact of their event and to adjust their behavior accordingly.

Finally, all furniture in the facility is sourced from certified sustainably sourced materials or reclaimed, ensuring that the facility is not contributing to deforestation or other environmental issues.
